Company History

Jackie Grubb, founder and principal of Plum Suite Solutions, has provided personal computer support services since 1983. She has been in business as an independent consultant since 1987 and is a member of the Independent Computer Consultants Association (www.icca.org) and the Society for Professional Consultants (www.spconsultants.org). As a personal computer specialist, she's worked with PC users in a wide variety of capacities, including programmer, developer, support professional, software mentor, and database designer.

Plum Suite's current focus is the use of Microsoft Office as a development environment. Developing custom business solutions in Microsoft Office realizes the true power latent in today's PC. Jackie brings almost two decades of insight to the process, having constructed over 30 databases - about half in Access and the others in dBase, Paradox and SmartWare.

About Jackie Grubb:

Jackie Grubb was born in California and spent the first half of her life on the West Coast before moving to the Boston area. She began her professional career as a high school teacher, then transferred to junior high school where she taught for twelve and a half years. Jackie made her career transition into computing as personal computers were first becoming available. She completed a three year stint as leader of a five-person training and documentation team before moving into PC support in 1983.

Prior to starting her own business in 1987, Jackie pioneered the installation of remote PCs for newspaper correspondents in several US cities and for overseas translators in Brazil, Germany and France. She developed software that allowed for easy telecommunication of formatted PC text to Atex publishing systems in Boston, and trained the writers and translators in the use of this program. She also developed database programs in dBase, SmartWare and Paradox for payment and tracking of remote workers and stringers.
